The summer schedule of the Hirafu Gondola has begun.  Starting from the Alpen Hotel the Gondola whisks visitors up the mountain to spectacular views and thrilling descents. From this year , nisekomtb.com will be offering guided downhill runs through the brand new track carved down the face of the mountain. Contact them for more info on how you too can be among the first to explore this amazing run!

  and in other news...

Looks like the Black Diamond Lodge http://www.bdlodge.com/  will be throwing another bash on the patio again this year for Niseko Cycle Week.

A bit cloak and dagger at the moment, but if triple jumps, fire pits, hot tubs and carnage are your cup of team, stay tuned to this site for updates as they develop. Its going to be epic

Niseko Cycle Week 2009

Niseko Cycle Week 2009 kicks off on August 30, and promises to be bigger and better than last year. This year the events schedule has been fine-tuned and will also see the introduction of more non-cycling events including live music, workshops,  kids activities and so forth...all with the goal of increasing the level of participation and promoting the entire Niseko area as a whole.

Adding to the broader aims of last year’s event to create awareness of Niseko as a cycling and green season destination, this year Niseko Cycle Week hopes to help improve the cycle infrastructure and services in Niseko, to promote clean, active lifestyle and health awareness, and contribute to the notion of environmental sustainability through the use of bicycles rather than automobiles.

As part of the week, local residents will be encouraged to participate in a ‘ride to work’ day.

This year’s event schedule will see…

- free social rides for beginners

- downhill events

- cross country events

- road riding events

There will be something for the whole family, all set upon the spectacular green summer backdrop of Niseko.
